POCA LOCA

years ago when i was a aspiring young cowpuncher, roper and ladies  man i was entered in a rodeo in central part of the state. i was there with a few friends who shared my views of my self. we roped together, traveled together and partied together.  the slack at the rodeo was over and the performance didnt start until 2 that afternoon. as was the custom of the day, and still is everyone repaired to the local watering hole until rodeo time.  my friends and i were had shoved some tables together in a small out of the way bar and were playing the juke box and the beer labels. when through the back door of the bar came a girl and her escort. this bar set on a busy street so the only parking was in back and the best entrance was the back door.  to get to the main roon you walked down a 30 foot hall just wide enough for one person at a time.  this dolly led the way into the room. she was the best lookin woman i had ever seen. a brunette dressed in denem wranglers and a white blouse, a straw hat on her head that you could tell was shaped in the cow country. she was followed by a feller about the same hight and was for sure a puncher. one of the fellers at our table waitted until they passed and we had pushed our eye balls back into our heads when he said he knew them. they were brother and sister, he worked on a local ranch and she was a airline attendent . he also told us she was a little crazy, poca loca! i couldnt believe it, some one that attractive crazy? it came to my mind maybe all she needed was a little of my time and therapy to make the crazy go away. i was warned but i wasnt convinced. the girl and her brother were seated on stools at the far end of the bar from us. i stood to go make myself available when a town gunsel who was seated close to them started  talking to the girl. she refused his advances a time or two but the gunsel kept it up. the brother then got dow off his stool and  told the gunsel to move on. the gunsel then proceeded to punch the brother, the fight commenced.  they were rollen around the floor cussen trien to punch one another. the sister got down off the stool she was gracin and walked up close to the fight. in a clear , firm voice she told them to stop, they kept on fighting. once more she told them to break it up, the fight went on. suddenly in that dainty little hand there was a pistol, a pearl handled ,  little 22 or maybe a 32. once more she told them to break it up, no response. the gun poped and the gunsel yelled and grabbed his thigh where a little spot of red appeared.  well to say the least everyone was stunned! then the stampede started out the back door! i wasnt in the lead but was close to it! how 30 or 40 people got out of that bar that fast down that narrow hall ill never know. the brother sister tam calmly walked out and got into a pickup and drove away. we decided we would be better off at the rodeo grounds as the local cops showed up. what happened after that i cant say. but i decided i needed to do a little more research on my proposed conquests in the future!
