GAGS, PRANKS AND PRACTICAL JOKES.

Around a cow outfit or feedlot there is usually  someone who is a jokster, or is the brunt of a joke. now if you cant take a joke, laugh with the rest of the guys, it only gets worse. you enjoy it or leave.  one of the first deals I got into was at the old t and c  cattle co in Maricopa.  loading fat cattle on the scales was always a ticklish deal. there was always one to many steers that fit and the other 39 head wouldn't give a inch. two of us were leaning on the gate hollering for all we were worth. our horses were putting their shoulders into the gate and that one damn steer had one hind foot in the way. the gate only liked about a foot of closing  and latching. this little battle went on for a minute or so when sam came out of the scale house with a hotshot to poke that steer with.  a few days earlier I had handed sam a hotshot by the business end and unintentionaly gave him a jolt.  well this one morning while we were strainnin our selves trying to shut the gate sam saw the chance to even the score. he handed me the business end with a grin on his face, but befor I could reach for it my partner jimmy reached across and grabbed it just as sam hit the button.  jimmy let out a howel than moved that whole 40 head of fat steers  5 feet letting the gate slam! jimmy was scoweling at sam, I was grinning as I rode away to the next pen and sam was rolling on the ground laughing!!
