eppi was sacking up the supplys that andy traded to him. but while he was doing it maxine was puttering around the camp. he was watching her. a plan was hatching in his mind. if he had her in his posetion he could do some wheeling and dealing back in mexico. he still had his pistol, and if everything worked he could take this sack of supplys and maxine back into mexico and live pretty well.but the gringo who was shot still had his rifle and was sitting up against the wagon. the rifle close by. maxines brother was always close by as well as the man who had traded him the supplys. he could leave then come back in the night. he could take the woman and a couple of horses. del sat with his back proped against the wagon wheel and was watching eppi. when maxine came to check on him he quietly said" stay close. that scheming little greaser is up to something. he has been watching you all morning. he is stalling on leaveing. just keep a eye out. i will as well." maxine glanced at eppi then turned back to del" you want a drink of something?"
