on a tuesday morning hayden roared out of the ranch yard. kent was at the barn saddling a horse to go ride through the cattle. he watched the dust roll out behind haydens truck shakeing his head. speaking to the horse as he led him a few steps before mounting" what ever it is i hope he run into something bad as fast as he s driveing." later that afternoon kent rode back into the yard and haydens truck was back parked in its ussual spot. as he rode past haydens house on the way to the barn hayden called from his door" when your done come up here please." kent waved a lazy hand at him and went to the barn. fifteen minutes later he climbed the steps to haydens house. as he approached the door hayden pushed it open letting him in. "well whats up boss?"kent asked. " i locked up a rodeo series this morning. five rodeos in 6 weeks. its at the buckeye center. it starts in 2 weeks. you ready?"hayden had a grinn on his face, " ime ready and my pick up horses are ready, the bucking stock are out of shape tho but i think i can work them over in two weeks time. is there where you went this morning?"kent could feel the excitment building. "yep i wrapped everything up this morning at the lawyers office. i got trucks scheduled, timed event cattle under contract and extra hired hands. also started a advertising campagin. this one should make some money."hayden was chuckling like a little kid getting ready for a trip to a carnival. "ill gather the broncs in the morning i think some grain every day and lope them around the arena for a while will get them legged up and ready."the infection of the excitment was takeing hold of kent. he was ready! the next morning just at day light kent and terrie turnned the broncs toward the main corrals . they bucked nd kicked up their heels all the way into the corrals. fat and well rested. and ready to go to work.the big sorrel bronc was the only one who seemed to take every thing in stride. he walked when he could trot, he totted when he could have loped. and in the corral stood in the middle of the bunch like a king over seeing his peasents. kent sat his horse and looked the big bronc over. he never ceased to amaze kent with his size and demeanor. " i left the bounty on him for this series. should draw some bronc riders."hayden had walked up next to kent . " that ole pony is gona rattle some ones teeth for sure." kent didnt turn his head.
