trimmin the jackass

when I was workin in feedlots , I did what ever I could to earn extra mony for entry fees, and other expenses.  I had three small children and a bad habit of buying young horses I really didn't need. so I was using every waking minute that I wasn't working in the yard to earn a little more. the most profitable was shoeing. I had developed a fair clientel and was keeping busy on my days off and in the summers long days. at the spur feedlot was a cowboy who was to say the least was excentric. bo had worked there for 20 some years , was loud and vulgar, and hard to tolerate. he had no close friends, was bad to get drunk after work every nite and was in general a pain in the butt. he was a good feedlot cowboy but a chronic whinner.   one week end he over heard me telling a friend that I had gotten a call from a lady who had adopted 3 wild burros from the BLM and needed their feet trimmed.  Saturday afternoon I was supposed to go trim these little burros feet. bo pestered me for 2 days  to take him along explaining that it would the twoof us to do the job. I assured him I could handle the job but he kept up the assault until I relented.  sure enough these burros had never been haltered or handled. we ropped each, haltered them, and while one of us held the head and twisted a ear the other trimmed the feet.  it was hot, and it wasn't long until we both were soaked in sweat.  the last burrow was a jack about 4 years old. I being tall was having a hard time getting under the short burros. bo insisted he trim the last one and since he was a lot shorter than me I gave in and let him have at it. he had trimmed three feet and was working on the off front foot and I was visiting with the burro owner who was across the fence. quicker than I can tell that jack swung his head and bit bo in the back. his teeth popped as he set back. bo threw down his tools ranaround behind me and bit ME!!  his false teeth clicked as he set back!! there he said think about THAT instead of visiting !!
