billy and gene ray.

billy and gene ray were on a party, a long party weeks strtching into a month or so. they were entered in a big ropin commin up and a lot of were wondering if the two would sober up.  billy was single and so wild he had never been curried below the knees.  gene ray was every ones friend, a good hand at work and a hell of a team roper as was billy.   gene ray was married to a gal that was as good as they come. she had the patience of a oyster.  when these two got to the ropin the party was still raging. gene rays wife sat in the stands with some of the other ropers wives.  mid way through this ropin  gene ray was called to rope. as he rode into the box billy jumped off the fence on to generays horse behind gene ray. he hollered out  " ill ride along and build second loops for ya"! gene ray rode into the box, whirled his horse around and billy fell off. gene ray called for the steer and left in a big rush, right over the top of billy! somehow billy got up and ask for another beer, untouched! gene rays wife turned to a friend and was heard to say gene ray is growing up while I grow old!!
